What A Girl Wants, A Girl Gets - New Monogrammed Gifts on a Budget!

During May / June of this year, before I headed to Market, we conducted a brief survey of almost 100 customers. We REALLY wanted to know what you guys love, want and need from us... You probably thought we forgot about your suggestions, but we've been working on it throughout the Summer and especially for the Holiday Season. So here's what we found you want and here's what we're doing about it:

1. Lot's of New Items: Absolutely! I'm all about bringing in new stuff every week. And we do have so many new items coming in; let's just say we're keeping our UPS and Fedex men quite busy these days! Check our website AND our Facebook page regularly as we will be posting our new Monogrammed Gifts weekly.
2. More Monogrammed Baby Gifts: You are so right! This is an area where we need to improve considerably. I have to be honest: because we do carry lots of Bridesmaid Gifts (and our Brides love us!), we kind of "forgot" about our Baby Gifts department. That is about to change... we have added several new items and come January, we will have tons of new Monogrammed Gifts for Baby!
3. More Eco-Friendly Gifts: I totally agree... Our store currently carries the most fabulous line of enviromentally friendly re-usable bags. Our Eco-Chic bags are not only practical and eco-friendly, but totally cute to carry around. You can find them under our Monogrammed Tote Bags section. And more to come...
4. Don't Run Out of Certain Items: OK, this is a tough one! We rely on so many different suppliers and when they run out, we run out. Some of our special prices are one-time deals given to us by our vendors and items within a certain price range tend to sell out quicker than others. So when you see something you like, grab it girls! It may be gone when you come back! :)
5. More Gifts Under $20: Wow! This is the one area where we have worked really hard, especially before we chose our Christmas Gifts for the store this year. Do you realize that over 50% of our monogrammed gifts are currently priced under $20?! We're all on a budget, right? But that doesn't change the fact that we all want to give a nice gift to everyone on our list!

My (not so) Green Thumb

Confession: I am the world's worst plant care-taker ever! (Is that even correct English?) It is ridiculous! What am I doing wrong??? I buy freakin' ferns E-V-E-R-Y single Spring and I kill E-V-E-R-Y single one of them by Mid-Summer! I mean, I water the dang things every couple of weeks,( I mean days), and the things just don't survive! I even run outside whenever there's even the slightest chance of rain (I ran like a fool tonight), to take them out so they can get rain water - or like we say en Espanol "Heaven Water" (Agua del Cielo)!. You know, come on, there's nothing better than rain water for my babies, right? Hmm, maybe not so much. I guess I must curse their root system or something because even Heaven Water won't save them....

On a different note... I read a fellow business owner's post a while back about the slow (read: horrible) economy and I must agree with her: people that used to be not so nice (read: really horrible) in our business are all of a sudden, hmmm... extremely nice. Like our supplier of.. hmm... well.. better not say. Hellooo?? You should be nice to EVERYONE, ALL the time... not just when you need them. For instance, our Mailman.... the nicest gentleman ever! They tend to be ignored and taken for granted - until the Postal Service announced yesterday they are closing tons of our post offices. Well, we are nice to him ALL the time. I have many times loaded (and unloaded) his tiny little 1980's Jeep (or his soon-to-fall-apart station wagon) so all your boxes can be delivered on time. Bottom line is this: Be nice to EVERYONE - ALL THE TIME; we never know what life may bring our way tomorrow. Today we may be eating caviar- tomorrow we may be delivering newspapers.....

Caffeine, Lots of Cafffeine... Please!

The things we do for our husbands.... So the Husband was flying home last night from somewhere in the Mid-South and, as it happens to him so often, his plane was delayed - a lot! To make matters worse, he had another business trip planned for very early this morning. So it was imperative to get him home early to get his beauty sleep.

So what does the Wife do? Rather than letting him get to C-Town at 1AM this morning, she drives close to 5 hours last night, just so the Husband could be home early enough to get an extra 2 hours of sleep! Then, (as if that wasn't enough) Wife drives to the C-Town Airport to pick up his car and his luggage - at 1AM this morning!!! Needless to say, I am exhausted.... Caffeine? Lots! Please!!!

So here's to all of us out there, trying to be the best Wives we can be! Trophy Wives??? ABSOLUTELY !! - In all seriousness, it is those little things we do for our loved ones that shows them how much we care.

So sorry I've been MIA all this time... feels like forever since my last post. We've been working like crazy, not only to get your orders out, but to get our new wholesale line ready before the trade shows this week. Product samples, catalogs, print advertising, marketing... to sum it up in one word : INSANE!
